Career Education Framework
Career Education Framework – Cadre d’éducation à la carrière (2022) The Francophone and Anglophone sectors, along with the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), came together to develop a career education framework for Early Childhood to Grade 12. This framework complements and supports the existing career education strategy – Career Connected Learning K-12 – including the new Hopeful Transitions model and planning tool. The framework builds on relevant historical approaches in the province and across Canada while drawing on international evidence and practice.

Course Selection on myBlueprint
What is the High School Plan feature in myBlueprint?
The High School Planner is a core feature in myBlueprint that helps students map out their courses from Grade 9 to 12 and track progress toward graduation. It provides:
- Visual Planning: Students can build and adjust multiple course plans and instantly see how choices impact graduation requirements.
- Graduation Indicator: A real-time tool that shows whether students are on track to meet all requirements.
- Pathway Eligibility: Automatically calculates post-secondary opportunities across Canada based on the student’s course plan.
- Integrated Guidance: Links course selections to career interests and post-secondary programs, helping students make informed decisions.
- Interactive & Accessible: Students can plan anytime, explore options, and share plans with families and educators for review.
What is Course Selection on myBlueprint and why would I want to learn more?
Course Selection in myBlueprint is when students use their High School Plan feature to choose and submit courses electronically while planning their academic pathway. It offers numerous benefits:
For Students:
- Plan courses anytime, starting as early as Grade 6.
- Visualize progress toward graduation with the Graduation Indicator.
- Create multiple high school plans and see real-time impacts.
- Connect interests (Who Am I? surveys) to course offerings and post-secondary pathways.
- Engage families in IPP reviews and encourage student agency.
For Schools:
- Increase teacher comfort and usage of myBlueprint.
- Easily approve requests and identify issues.
- Pull reports like Course Forecasting and On Track to Graduate.
- Seamlessly transfer course requests to the SIS for timetabling.
Overall Benefit:
Integrating course selection with myBlueprint maximizes the value of the platform, supports informed decision-making, and streamlines planning for students, families, and schools.
