K-5 Digital Literacy Kit and Recorded Professional Learning Session
The Centre of Excellence for Digital Innovation, in partnership with The McKenna Institute, has developed a series of activities for K-5 classrooms to support the New Brunswick Digital Literacy Framework [NBED Login]. Each curriculum-connected lesson (six for K-2 and six for 3-5) pairs with a read-aloud and links to one of the 6 components of the framework:
- Digital Citizenship;
- Digital Health and Wellness;
- Critical Inquiry and Meaning Making;
- Creativity, Design, and Problem Solving;
- Communication and Collaboration;
- Computational Thinking.
Schools who are interested in receiving a kit that includes a copy of each book can register here by November 22, 2024 (administrators apply to receive a kit to be shared by educators in the school). While supplies are limited, a second mailout of the kits will occur in 2025.
