Session Description: So you are a school leader. You are tasked with managing a safe and successful school environment and moving your team on a trajectory of improvement. As much as any new plan or initiative has the best interest of student learning at heart, new policy, practice, or change is often met with resistance. Confronting this barrier with the RIGHT conversation is instrumental.
Drawing upon the work of Robyn Jackson (School Leadership Reimagined), Steve Gruenert & Todd Whitaker (School Culture Recharged), and Susan Scott (Fierce Conversations), this workshop explores causes of teacher resistance and provides a model for having needed, yet difficult, discussions. In addition to better understanding your preferred approach, learn when, where, why, and how to talk to your team.
