DESCRIPTION:*Registration Full*\nWabanaki Cultural Immersion Camp for New Brunswick Educators\nThe Office of First Nation Education at the New Brunswick Department of Education and Early Childhood Development is pleased to once again offer the Wabanaki Cultural Immersion Camp for New Brunswick educators. \nTaking place July 14–17\, 2026\, in Bilijk (Kingsclear First Nation)\, this four-day learning experience provides educators with an opportunity to deepen their understanding of Wabanaki histories\, cultures\, languages\, and worldviews through learning led by Wabanaki Elders and Knowledge Keepers. \nParticipants will explore topics including ceremonies\, songs\, storytelling\, Wabanaki history and culture\, Wabanaki languages\, the experiences of Wabanaki students\, the Peace and Friendship Treaties\, land-based education\, sacred spaces\, and meaningful ways to incorporate Wabanaki perspectives and philosophies into teaching and learning. \nThere is no cost to attend. Meals\, accommodations\, and travel expenses will be covered. As space is limited\, interested educators are encouraged to register early. \nFor more information or to register\, please contact Bill Patrick at bill.patrick@gnb.ca. \nThe Wabanaki Nations include the Mi’kmaw\, Wolastoqey (Maliseet)\, Peskotomuhkati (Passamaquoddy)\, Abenaki\, and Penobscot Nations. Most of the camp content will focus on the histories\, cultures\, and perspectives of the Mi’kmaw and Wolastoqey peoples.
