Join educators from across New Brunswick for the EECD Professional Development Day on Thursday, September 3, 2026.
Start the school year with a day dedicated to learning, collaboration, and inspiration. Designed for educators and school staff from all Anglophone school districts, Professional Development Day provides opportunities to deepen professional practice, explore new initiatives, and connect with colleagues from across the province.
The day begins with the launch of the Anglophone Sector Education Plan 2026–2038, where Deputy Minister Ryan Donaghy, Assistant Deputy Minister Dr. Tiffany Bastin, and Ryan Price will share the vision, priorities, and future direction for education in New Brunswick. Participants will also explore how this vision is supported through AI and Digital Pedagogy K–12 Curriculum, highlighting the evolving role of digital technologies and artificial intelligence in teaching and learning.
Throughout the day, educators can participate in a diverse range of sessions, including:
- Dr. Marian Small sharing practical strategies for responsive mathematics instruction and targeted learner supports.
- Getting Started with Digital Learning Tools, featuring platforms such as SchoolAI, Canva, Lumio, Sora, Brightspace, Microsoft 365, and other resources available to New Brunswick educators.
- Responsible Use of AI in Wabanaki Education, exploring culturally sustaining approaches to using artificial intelligence in educational settings.
- Experiential Learning in the Middle Level Classroom, with practical strategies to engage learners through authentic, curriculum-connected experiences.
- AI Tools and Resources for the Visual Arts Classroom, demonstrating creative ways educators can integrate emerging technologies while supporting artistic learning.
- Curriculum updates and implementation sessions across Mathematics, French Immersion Language Arts, Science, Career Connected Education, Literacy, Assessment, and many other subject areas.
