Teaching to Include Each Learner

The purpose of this course is to help implement the principles of inclusive education confidently and appropriately in your teaching context. In this brand-new 30-hour course, participants will be encouraged to provide feedback about the course through pilot surveys in each of the 4 modules.

COURSE OBJECTIVES
When participants successfully complete this course, they will be able to:
• Articulate the foundational principles of inclusive education.
• Identify school-wide inclusive practices.
• Maintain confidentiality and obtain appropriate consent when you need to share or gather information about a learner.
• Distinguish between justified and universal accommodations.
• Use the Intervention Process Map more effectively.
• Recognize the role of the entire school team in connecting with each learner.
• Collaborate with the ESS Team and other professionals to support learners with a Personalized Learning Plan.
• Collaborate with professionals and paraprofessionals to better support learners Educational Assistants.
• Establish conditions for positive communication with your learners’ caregivers.
• Improve the physical accessibility of your learning environment.
• Develop and support the conditions for a collaborative and respectful learning environment.
• Create lesson plans that include multiple ways for your learners to take in information, take action, and express what they’ve learned.
