Integrated Service Delivery (ISD)

Integrated Service Delivery (ISD)

ISD is a local and regional governance and service delivery framework that enables partners to better work together, using a coordinated and integrated approach to meet the needs of children and youth at risk. ISD is intended to address service gaps in early assessment and intervention services for children, youth and their families. In the provision of ISD assessment and intervention supports, core areas of functioning and needs related to the positive development of children, youth and their families provide a specific focus of intervention services. The goal of ISD is to enhance the system’s capacity to respond in a timely, effective and integrated manner to the strengths, risks and needs profiles of children, youth and their families.

More Details

ISD Learning Series

Integrated Service Delivery (ISD) is anyone who services and supports youth in NB in a collaborative and integrated fashion.

The Learning Series is designed as a high-level introduction to various subjects relevant to those working with youth in NB. It is understood that no one will walk away as a subject matter expert through a one-hour lecture.

However, it is designed to generate exposure and discussion, both inside the series and within work environments, on topics professionals encounter in their work with youth in NB.

Anyone working with youth in NB is encouraged to attend any sessions that are of interest.

Radius

New Brunswick has invested in training for professionals who work with youth at risk of causing sexual harm. This training is online and available at no cost to anyone who works or provides support (such as foster parents) to youth who may have risk factors for causing sexual harm or those who would like to know more about this subject.

The video series has two target audiences:

  • The Prevention Group is anyone who interfaces with youth in their role in New Brunswick. Examples would include teachers, nurses, educational assistants, group home staff, foster parents, human service counsellors, etc. This group would consume Days 1 & 2. Once completed, they could qualify to receive the training certificate by contacting Jessica Forbes at Jessica.forbes@gnb.ca.
  • The Expert Group is those licensed or qualified to be licensed to deliver therapeutic intervention services, such as social workers, psychologists, guidance counsellors, etc. They would complete Day 1, Day 2 (Expert Only), Day 3 & 4. Once completed, they could qualify to receive the training certificate by contacting Jessica Forbes at Jessica.forbes@gnb.ca.

Attachment Regulation and Competency Training (ARC)

The Department of Health for the Government of New Brunswick has contracted with the developers of the ARC Intervention Model to provide training to all service providers in the province on this model. Delivered as 3 one hour video modules, this training is available at no charge to those working with youth in New Brunswick to develop treatment and implementation capacity for this tool.

First Nations Training

The ISD First Nations Coordinators have offered various trainings to GNB officials. Some of these include information on the Two-Eyed Seeing approach, delivered in part by the founder Elder Albert Marshall, among others. This training remains available at no charge through video recording for those interested in learning more.
